Could we obtain away with having a wrestler be gay without it being a "thing" now? Have we come far enough?
I feel prefer even Cena's lgbtq+ jokes would just fall flat if the guy was openly gay, and the younger WWE fans would probably just accept it as part of who he is.
If WWE wanted to make a guy the biggest name and heel in the business, they would acquire a homosexual dude come out with his boyfriend, without even mentioning anything is wrong with being gay or focus on the fact that he is gay, and have him be a complete dick to everyone. News websites everywhere would gobble this up, create huge urge for the WWE. Any press is good press.

Last week, Anthony Bowens — a queer Black wrestler with All Elite Wrestling and one of the first openly gay wrestlers to hold a major championship belt — stood in the center of the ring while thousands of fans chanted, Hes gay.
While that sounds prefer a traumatic experience, it was actually a heartwarming event that represents a sea change in how gay performers are treated in the traditionally homophobic sport of pro wrestling. AEW has championed the LGBTQ community from its inception and the segment, which aired on AEW Rampage, was part of a storyline between Bowens’ tag team, The Acclaimed, and QTV, a rival group. QTV member Harley Cameron, a woman, approached Bowens about creating a “power couple,” to which Bowens replied, “Lady, I’m gay.”

Before we dive into my possess list of notable LGBTQ performers, I need to put out this caveat. The names on this list are by no means every lesbian, lgbtq+, transgender or queer dancer ever. Some will not be on it. Actually, probably a lot wont be on it, as Id bet that some lived their entire careers in the closet, sadly.
