Since , the Emmy winner has been married to writer/producer Robert Sudduth (Grease: Soar of the Pink Ladies), with whom he has a son, Montgomery.

  • Joanna Johnson

Just before Bold & Beautiful revealed that Bill Spencer&#;s sister Karen is a lesbian, her portrayer toldTV Guide that she is, too. For years, &#;I was so worried I wouldn&#;t be employable as an actress if people knew,&#; she said, &#;or that I wouldn&#;t be believable in romance stories. I had to deal with a lot of self-loathing.&#; Now a TV producer, Johnson has been married since to club promoter

I&#;ve been writing about TV for eight years, and it&#;s astounding how much has changed in such a relatively short period of time. When I first started, we had to have entire murderboards and charts and rely on whispered rumors and what we believed in our hearts to be true when it came to celebrities playing for &#;our team.&#; When people did come out, it was via a prolonged, emotional acceptance speech at an awards show, a personal essay.

But Gen Z doesn&#;t have time for that. They want 15 second TikTok videos and character coming out tweets.

AND I&#;M LIVING FOR IT. Ellen crawled so Kirsten Stewart could walk, Elliot Page walked so millennials could run, and millennials ran so Gen Z could fly.

In case you aren&#;t familiar, this performer, Shannon Berry, plays Dot on the newish Amazon show The Wilds, which I rather enjoyed so was delighted to witness. And of course, because of my Nancy Drew roots when I saw Mia Healey (who plays Shelby on the show) respond with this:

The Boys' Lesbian Firecracker Actress Reveals Why She Had to Play the Anti-Gay Extremist Supe

    Summary

    • Firecracker in The Boys provides a stark contrast to Valorie Curry's real-life identity, but she connected with the character immediately.
    • Showrunner Eric Kripke cleverly incorporates real-life events, challenging viewers on topics like the Republican Party and #MeToo movement.
    • Kripke defends the show against criticism of being "woke" and questions how fans can still root for Homelander's questionable behavior.

Valorie Curry’s introduction as Firecracker in The Boys is certainly a reminder of what acting is all about. At a time when many people have issues with any actor playing a character that is not the same race, gender, or sexual orientation as themselves, Curry is bucking that trend in the most extreme way.

Firecracker is another extreme caricature in a series occupied of flawed and over-the-top characters. As someone with dangerously divisive political and extremist views, Firecracker’s conspiracy theories about vaccines,
