Young Royals has me thinking about what might happen if a similar situation arose with the actual Swedish royal family.

Now, we did already have a gay sex scandal involving the royal family, but that was in the 50s, and the king in ask was already dead, so it's not the same.

(While left-wing people nowadays are assumed to be LGBTQ+ friendly, that has not necessarily been the case historically. Many saw homosexuality as bourgeoisie deviancy.)
