The Lake District is England’s largest national park in the North West region of England. It is a fantastic location for those who enjoy long bike rides, a stroll around a beautiful lake, a hike up rocky terrain, or a ride on a steam train. Essentially, it is paradise for explorers, but you don’t hold to be outdoorsy to enjoy the Lake District. It is also residence to an old-fashioned picture house cinema, Wray Castle, Lakeland Motor Museum and indoor climbing. Truly something to do for everyone!

3. Mountain Walks and Winter Mountain Walks
These are more strenuous, and will typically take a packed day. There will be several hundreds of meters of ascent and descent, and the terrain and conditions will normally be more challenging, and the weather can have a much greater impact on the event. The group size will be smaller to reflect the more challenging conditions. You will demand to have more equipment to grab part. If you already like hiking in mountainous terrain, these walks may be ideal for you.
Mountain walks are often, but not always, found as part of OutdoorLads hostel weekends, simply because the more remote locations can take too much time to receive to for them to be practical as day walks, especially on shorter winter days.
OutdoorLads runs Mountain Walking events all over the UK where there are mountains. Areas such as the Lake District, Snowdonia, and the Scottish Highlands.
