The push to create Wrestlers WithOut Borders stems from the Gay Games III in Vancouver. Club leaders from across the globe organized to grow higher, uniform standards and procedures for Gay Games wrestling tournaments to guarantee mission goals of safety and inclusion. In our bylaws were revised to extend our mission beyond the Homosexual Games. We are an international group of clubs and individuals working to promote the sport of wrestling and help our clubs provide safe and productive wrestling opportunities in accepting and proactive environments. Our members are committed in wrestling at every level from youth programs on up.

We're Baaack!

METRO WRESTLING is New York City's accessible, gay-friendly freestyle wrestling club for adults.

Please wear flat-soled shoes such as wrestling shoes, or alternately you can go barefoot (just wearing socks could get slippery). Shoes with higher soles could set your ankles at uncertainty. Also as is customary at wrestling practices, road shoes can't be worn on the mats. We clean mats before each practice.

All wrestlers of all levels are welcome at all practices. We have several coaches to work with everyone based on their level (beginners, intermediate and advanced). Participate us for dinner afterwards!

Upcoming practices and events:

We will be practicing for the time creature with the historic Twin Towers Wrestling Club at John Jay College. The schedule is here.

Metro Wrestling will be hosting an open mats at the NYC Wrestlefest on February 15 and 16, at the Unused Yorker Hotel, 8 Av and 34 St, Manhattan. Please click/tap here if you would like to attend.

See you on the mats!

RIK (R): So Jaymes, you are an actor and Producer, how did your career start? Has it started? When did that happen?
JAYMES (J): It’s something I’ve always had the calling to complete. I didn’t really possess a choice about it. It’s like a sickness. I made my first short back in the 90’s and officially starting “my career” during graduate film school.

R: What was your inspiration for this show?
J: Definitely the old school pro wrestling shows from the 70’s and 80’s. We wanted PGW to have that feel, like you were watching a late bedtime wrestling show from that classic era, except everyone is openly gay… more or less.

R: Are you a wrestler yourself?
J: How could I not be? I don’t assess I’d fare too good if I wasn’t at least mildly bad ass.

R: Did you have entertaining filming it?
J: No. It was Hell! Just kidding. We had a great time. It’s a Great group of people and we get along great except when we’re in the ring….

R: Any injuries to anyone?
J: Nothing serious, except skillfully maybe… a few people’s pride.

R: A
